Educational Services
The goal of the Educational Services Program of Easterseals Central California (ESCC) is to maximize each student’s educational experience in a way that will enhance their skills in school, in the community, and at home. The program provides services that compliment those normally offered in an educational setting. All services are provided under contract with local school districts, other agencies, or individuals and allow our Behavior Technicians to provide a variety of evidenced-based, instructional services, and positive behavioral supports. Medical and health assistance is provided by our health aides and registered nurses.

Overview of Educational Services
Our Educational Services team provides comprehensive assistance to students, teachers, staff, and related service providers. We support and develop schools and staff with the capacity to assist all students regardless of disability. We offer professional development, training and specialized support across the following categories: behavior intervention, medical, professional development and language.
Behavioral
We provide behavioral consultation, training, and ongoing support through highly trained board certified behavior analysts (BCBA)
and assistant behavior analysts (BCaBA). Our behavioral team:
- conducts and assists with functional analysis assessments
- assists school districts in progress monitoring and data-driven decision making
- provides ongoing support and staff training to insure fidelity of interventions
Our behavior technicians
are certified, trained and supported to effectively work with a variety of students in classrooms. Ultimately these technicians, under the guidance of our BCBAs/BCaBAs, assist teachers to achieve maximum instruction for each student.
Medical
We provide registered nurses
to consult, oversee and support schools with students who have medical needs. Registered nurses provide 1:1 medical care to students with diabetes, respiratory issues, G tubes, seizure disorders, cerebral palsy and a host of other medical issues.
Health aides
provide 1:1 care for student health needs and academic support. Health needs can range from mobility assistance to total care (feeding, toileting, transportation assistance, G tube feeding and communication device assistance).
Professional Development
We provide educational consultation for a variety of topics that focus on inclusive practices for teachers utilizing evidence-based practices, including but not limited to: positive behavior, classroom management strategies, promoting student independence and self-management.
Language
We provide sign language interpreters
that offer 1:1 interpreting for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
